One of the first things we do each summer is to pull boats off of their racks and down to the beach by our cabin. Depending on the weather, the canoe, a kayak, or the zuma sailboat might be best for going out on the lake. But getting out onto the water offers a whole fresh perspective to a lake. Looking back to our beach from a distance, it seems so small. But it's large in our hearts and minds! Picking the boats up and putting them back on their racks, or tucking them beside the cabin are the last things we do before closing the place down each year. Nothing says end of the season like hauling boats up the narrow path and through the trees to their resting places.
