I’ve always been drawn to high contrast scenes, where the sun illuminates features of an object against a darker background. When I first saw this cliff across the bay, I was transfixed by the gorgeous light shining on it. I ended up taking lots of photos because the cliff face kept changing subtly depending on where I stood. I think this is one of the many reasons I became a landscape artist: because the natural world offers us a never-ending array of striking scenes to enjoy if only we pay attention.
