When I used to visit Maine, we’d often pass this cove so well-hidden by trees that if you weren’t paying attention, you’d drive past and never even realize it was there. Places like that fascinate me; they reveal themselves only to those curious enough to look for the unexpected. Driving to an island, on a road with dense woods on both sides, we’d suddenly catch a quick glimpse of one of these small, beautiful coves, often with boats moored safely away from the worst of Maine’s storms. We all need these safe coves at times; a place to be sheltered and hidden away from the worst of what life throws at us.
