When I was trying to figure out the title of this painting, I first focused on the fog and the growing loss of light, etc. Then I thought, why focus on loss? Focus on the bright side: the beautiful light shining on the cliff. I want to focus, even when it’s difficult, on the beautiful in my life in the form of my family and dear friends...my wonderful colleagues and students. May we all get through this tough end of the semester, these “gray” days, helping each other remember the beautiful all around us.
