We were in northern California, winding our way through redwoods, golden hills sprinkled with cattle, and then somehow, back down to the water. We discovered this interesting beach where the winds were cold, the sand was dark and littered with driftwood, and the water was a beautiful, emerald green. I love how the natural world never fails to surprise me!
