Like many people, I find streams with waterfalls mesmerizing and beautiful, even ones as small as these. I grew up near an ocean so water that moves has always been more appealing than still water though lakes have their own special beauty. This painting is based on a place we discovered while visiting in New Hampshire where the water was delightfully cool after a warm summer day hike.
