Media: Gouache
Size: 5x7 in
I've been using cold press 140# watercolor paper for my gouache studies.
There's a product at Hobby Lobby that was recommended to me. I was surprised as overall quality of HB art supplies is not good. They've cleared out any quality oil paints. Only student grade which lacks pigment and permanency. Anyway, the product is on canvas board, Master's Touch, Watercolor Canvas Panels. VERY reasonably priced ($2.99 for (5) 5" x 7" panels) for what I have found so far to be easier to work with than the cold press. The surface reminds me of ampersand which is hugely expensive as far as a substrate goes. My neighborhood HB did not carry it but I did find a full range of sizes at another HB. Started small, little investment, we'll see where it goes.
