For today's Daily Hoodie, I decided to try out an experiment in painting monochrome posterization style. I started with mixing 4 shades of blue (mostly ultramarine, with a little cobalt hue & turquoise, mixed with titanium white), and painted the mountain in 4 values, using a slightly different hue for the sky. I used the same photo reference as "Driving up Lolo Pass," but started by posterizing it in gimp to get the 4 values. Note: this piece is hanging in a show at the Rocking Frog Cafe, Portland OR. You can buy it online if you like (and if it hasn't sold yet at the cafe), but it will be shipped to you after the show closes at the end of February, 2020.
