Media: Qor® watercolor paints on Arches
Size: 8x11 in
For my own learning, I painted the same image again, but in a horizontal format (see yesterday's post). For this second time painting the same image, I was particularly attentive to value groups to help accentuate the illusion of depth in space. The values range from the white of the paper (brightest sun) to very rich color (warm and cool areas). I’m pleased this cotton paper receives color so well, allowing me to create rich darks. Some of my distant objects have harder edges than I’d prefer, but working small has challenges. I like the final image a lot. Qor® watercolor paints on Arches cotton 140 lb., 9 x 12 inch paper. Image area is approximately 8 x 11. Artwork is signed at right bottom.
