Media: Fabric Painting dyed silk habotai
Size: 10x10 in
On Hold
From my childhood, my family and I have explored and played on the northern beaches of the Washington coast. I marveled at the smooth stones in Olympic Peninsula streams, stained by iron-rich water and tannins from tree leaves (nature’s tea). In this artwork, I’ve sought to capture their colors and sparkling light. This artwork is 100% silk habotai 10mm, dyed with non-toxic, water-based dyes (Jacquard Red Label), and set by steam (no chemicals) for permanence. Silk art looks lovely framed with a mat, under glass like any other two-dimensional art medium. Unlike my watercolors and oil paintings, my silk artworks can be hand washed or dry cleaned, and ironed on the “silk” setting. Artwork is sold unframed. Silk artwork is approximately 10 ½h x 10 ½w inches, with four unhemmed edges (see second photo). Artwork is signed at right bottom.
