I live on Offut Lake in Western Washington State. I love to kayak or paddleboard when the lake is calm. This location is similar to the painting entitled Rest, but on a different day with different light. Offut Summer is part of a series of oil paintings I've created in spring 2020. I've entitled the series Quiet Waters. Quiet Waters embodies selah, rest, and pause -- in soul-restoring places of peace - lakes, streams, rivers, and ocean. This virus season has challenged our contentment, our convenience, and sometimes our peace. My artist response to these inner and outer tensions is to paint places of peace - places of quiet waters. To me, the lake and stream imagery is soul-refreshing. And so I've painted them to "notice" them, to receive them well, and to share them. see more artwork by Steve Scheibe at www.visibleinvisible.com Artwork is sold unframed and sealed with damar varnish (sealed 11/2/2020).
