Media: oil painting on archival canvas panel by SOHO
Size: 6x8 in
This is a view from my home-studio. I sometimes paint it pleine air because it is so accessible to me. Changes of light and seasonal color make for many quite unique paintings. This particular morning, the light amplified blues and golds. I'm so thankful to live in beautiful western Washingon State. Still is part of a series of oil paintings I've created in spring 2020. I've entitled the series Quiet Waters. Quiet Waters embodies selah, rest, and pause -- in soul-restoring places of peace - lakes, streams, rivers, and ocean. This virus season has challenged our contentment, our convenience, and sometimes our peace. My artist response to these inner and outer tensions is to paint places of peace - places of quiet waters. To me, the lake and stream imagery is soul-refreshing. And so I've painted them to "notice" them, to receive them well, and to share them. see more artwork by Steve Scheibe at www.visibleinvisible.com and view his thirty days of painting page here http://www.visibleinvisible.com/pages/daily-paintings/spring2020dailyoilpaintings.php Artwork is sold unframed and sealed with damar varnish (sealed 11/2/2020).
