Media: Soft Pastels on UArt archival sanded paper
Size: 8x8 in
Not for Sale
Inspired by a very windy October walk at the trail near Waldrick Road, I painted this curvy road in soft pastels on UArt archival sanded paper, 8 by 8 inches. The under-painting is brushed with 70% denatured alcohol to create loose, gestural brushstrokes. My aim was to paint the scene's light, emerging fall colors, and a sense of that particular windy, wet day. You can see the context in the short video (see link). I'm really like this painting and am pleased to share it with you here. AND... I was the dpw.com featured artist for third week of November 2021 and this is the artwork I donated to the drawing. The recipient was delighted with her win. Also look in my gallery to see this scene painted on a quiet summer afternoon. It is in oils and is entitled "Summer Swoops."
