I found myself thinking about these cacti while trying to render it and considered it's needles and what it needs to survive here in the desert...especially in Phoenix. This particular individual had a sky hole drilled into him by some desert varmint. Some of these guys succumbed to the heat last year, boiled by the constant 110 degree days with no chance of cooling off. Here's hoping this year isn't so brutal.
