I participated in a plein air! Artist were asked to paint Hobbs State Park in Northwest Arkansas. The weather was so cold! I had five tops on and still managed to shiver a little. But, it wasn't enough to keep me from pushing some paint. This area had such a unique color to it. There was not a trace of green, and I liked it that way. It was sorta like the hope of what was anticipated but not seen. As I was painted, hikers would come up and take a peek. We would visit a bit. Then they would say their farewells and add, "Let's go a little further". Meaning, they were going a little further down the trail that ran alongside the creek. It seemed to fit this piece perfectly!
