"Taquka" is a Kodiak Bear from Alaska. A dear friend of mine had a wonderful Alaskan experience where he was able to see these incredible animals in their natural habitat. When I saw his photo album from the trip, I asked permission to paint from his photograph. He was flattered and was pleased to see how I brought "Taquka" to life on canvas. This painting won Best In Show and People's Choice Award for the 2016 Art In the Park festival.
