This was painted during a plein air workshop along a little creek in Illinois. We were hoping to paint snow that weekend but alas, no snow...just cold and ice. I was drawn the patterns in the ice made by the twigs and log. I am always drawn to places like this because I used to play in places like this as a kid--I could spend all day there.
