This is a plein air piece, or painted on location. It is a painting of two old homesteads from the ghost town of Keysville, MO. There are so many cool, abandoned buildings here, slowly being reclaimed by nature. It was hot, hot, hot the day this was painted but, after I finished, I found a nice little shady spot, kicked back-had lunch and ice cold water, then painted this same view from another perspective....in the shade this time.
