This little painting is based on a scene I saw while hiking along the Cache la Poudre river in Rocky Mountain National Park. There was a bit of fresh snow on the ground, the sun was out and warming things up to the point the snow was starting to melt. I was intrigued by the saturated color of the grass, river bed, and snow shadows.
