The painting comes in a dark brown floating frame (image2). This painting is inspired by the sun reflecting on the surface of College Lake near Pitstone in the Aylesbury Vale district of Buckinghamshire, a nearby nature reserve set in an old chalk quarry. The site is a sanctuary for more than a thousand species of wildlife on the lake, marshland and grassland. Here rare species of birds nest on the islands in the lake, including the rare lapwings and redwing. As a geologist, I also enjoy wandering in search of ammonites, belemnites and echinoids.
