This painting is a scene from Hutchinson Island, Florida. The quaint little island is one of the few places on the Florida coast with a unique and rocky shoreline. I have visited it a few times and each time have found something memorable to paint. As I walked along the rocky shores of the island to an overlook, I could see the sea stretching out in front and the bluffs cast beautiful shadows on the wet sandy beach below. I loved the interplay between the rocks and beach and the light and shadows. This painting is a scene from Hutchinson Island, Florida.
