ASLAN - The original was painted on smooth cresent watercolor board with light-fast professional pigments. As I painted the lion I thought of the character of Aslan in the C.S. Lewis classic "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" My intention was to capture the intensity and the mystery of his character."They turned and saw the lion himself, so bright, and real, and strong that everything began to look pale and shallow compared to him." -The Lion the witch, and the Wardrobe - C.S.
