"I'm a pastel artist trying (again) to like acrylics. By trial and error I have learned how to adjust the feel of the paint (I want it to feel like oil). This information by Patti has been very, very helpful especially regarding the flatness I have been seeing. I have been mixing with gloss medium but now I this I'll try gel. Thank you!"

I am able to use the student grade paints along with my more expensive paints because I finger paint and layer heavily. But I also use the heavy gel medium on top of or below my imprimatura.
