The reality of daily painting has changed for me over the years. I share how I have come to interpret the term "daily" and my secrets for getting un-blocked. I talk about a typical day for me in the studio and how painting while my small child napped helped cure my procrastination!

"I read your take on daily painting, and it is inspirational. I have your book on daily painting, and have read it from cover to cover. I am wanting to work on becoming a daily painter, and to also have a system for housekeeping and meals, and still be a daily painter. I have a sister-in-law who is in the later stages of Alzheimer's, and hospice has been called in, and my brother-in-law is not where he can care for himself. I cook meals for him and carry these to him once a week, and with even this, I want to become a daily painter, I just have to work into this busy life, and it can be done. Thank you for your inspiration."

I bought this tutorial years ago. I used to paint and blog frequently, then life happened. My husband had a serious accident thankfully he recovered then we moved. All excuses to why I have painted basically one painting a year.
I lost all confidence. Nothing seemed sure. I too made up excuses not to sit down and paint.

"I have just finished reading your book "Daily Painting" and I feel that much of what you said in telling your story could have been MY story. I have been a full time painter now for years, but still I struggle and find anything I can to avoid or put off facing the easel. When I left to go to college my mother said (and I'll never forget it) "you should be sure to get a teaching degree, because you'll never make a living as an artist." I guess I've done all I could to make sure she was right. You have inspired me to re-think my approach and realize a few truths. Every artist has something unique to say. Just stay with it until you find out what that is.
