About me--I grew up on a Wisconsin farm, the eighth of thirteen children. Life was tough and my fantasy escape from all the craziness was art. I drew and colored and painted on everything from brown paper sacks to envelopes. I have always loved to take photos, there is a strong connection between my photography, writing and artwork.

After completing my degree in Fine Art from UW, Madison.

I have lived in the Santa Cruz/Aptos for most of my adult life—except for the decade I spent in Boulder, CO. I also spend a lot of time in the Morro Bay area and visit New Mexico as often as I can.

Painting continues to be a meditation and an expression of the intense joy and fascination I find in observing the world around me. There is always a story that visually grabs me. I would describe my painting as whimsical realism.

I paint mostly in oils, though I also enjoy watercolor and acrylic.
