Caprise has been passionate about art since she was a young child. At age sixteen, she began collaborating and studying with other artists at Studio in The Woods in Wauconda, IL. She obtained her associate degree in fine art from the College of Lake County, Grayslake, IL. After a 20-year break to raise her family, she returned to her passion and studied at Mainstreet Art Center in Lake Zurich, IL.
She primarily works with pastels but also explores oil, watercolor, and acrylic mediums in her art. Her subject matter revolves around various outdoor scenes, including forests, oceans, sunsets, old structures, and abandoned vehicles in fields. By working on surfaces like sanded paper, she creates texture and effectively layers vibrant pastels to achieve rich and expressive paintings. Her art captures the beauty and essence of nature, offering viewers a chance to connect with the serenity and wonder of the great outdoors.
In 2018, Caprise and her family relocated to Arkansas, where she built her studio on Petit Jean Mountain, an area adjacent to the Arkansas River between the Ouachita Mountains and Ozark Plateaus. There are endless possibilities for future paintings.
Caprise is a Signature Member and current President of the Arkansas Pastel Society (APS), a Signature Member of the Ozark Pastel Society (OPS), and a juried Associate Member of the Pastel Society of America (PSA).
