Wind River Daily Painter

Nobody ever accused me of being an artist.....

Compulsive painter is more like it......

I just like to sit outside in silence, and play with my art toys.  In all kinds of weather.  My toys include  homemade easels and palettes, beautiful colors, a table and chair, a thermos of Turkish coffee, whatever paint suits the season, and an ever changing array of knives, brushes, panels and paper, an umbrella, and a backpack to put them in.

Everyday,  an hour before sunrise, I walk 2 miles to the  Wind River Basin of  Wyoming to play with my toys, just for fun.  Then, if its not too hot,  I might return for the afternoon light.

There is a lovely pond beside the Wind River with 180 degrees of open big sky.   The sunrise is un-obstructed from solstice to solstice.    The greatest show on Earth!  For Free!

Starling Murmurations, Comorants, Terns, Sandhill Cranes, Blue Herons, Ospreys, White Pelicans,  Bald Eagles, dog walkers,  the fox family, beavers, Deer Licks, otters, and the occasional moose provide the background music.  A hot air balloon might join the parade.

The only goal is the willingness to complete a new  sketch everyday;  this requires a dedicated commitment.  So far,  I've completed over 2000.  Carl Rungius said they get interesting after the first 3,000!
