Gail Bowers grew up in the Appalachian
Mountains of north Georgia. She grew up living, breathing, and exploring nature
in the orchards that have been in her mother’s family for generations. Most of
her adult life has been spent living on lush tropical islands. A background
filled with natural beauty provided a powerful influence on the palette and
themes of her paintings. Her artistic focus is wildlife painting and
portraiture of animals and people. Using bold lines and vibrant colors she
finds a way to express the unique personality she sees in the subjects she
cares about so deeply.
Ms. Bowers studied art for two years
in college. She continued her private studies with contemporary teachers and
masters. She retired in 2010 and is working full time as an artist from
her home on Merritt Island in Florida and spends portions of the year in
Woodstock, New York.
