Kara Greenblott Studio

My name is Kara and I’m a mixed media artist. For many years, I focused exclusively on watercolors and mark making with pen and ink. But in 2020, the year of Covid, I took an on line course (with Lisa Agaran) and learned something called the Nat-Geo Citra-Solv technique. This technique is essentially about creating fabulous patterns through the process of ‘melting’ the ink on the pages of National Geographics magazines. I’ve become completely obsessed with this art form and have been creating collages (and earrings) with the pages ever since. What I love is that each time I work with the pages, I'm in for a surprise! The outcomes are totally unpredictable, and insanely fun to play around with. For these Mixed Media pieces, I only sell originals, (i.e. no prints), and I am happy to make custom pieces if you see something you like, but are interested in different colors. (Warning: No two pieces are exactly alike – hence the surprise factor!).

If you see something you like, but its sold, or if you would like it in a different size or color, I'm happy to accomodate your preferences.

I can be reached at kgreenblot@aol.com.
