"I'm going to make everything around me beautiful - that will be my life."

-Elsie De Wolfe

I've been an artist of some sort or another most of my life. One of my earliest memories is of drawing the floor plans and furniture placement of every room in our house. Is it any surprise I ended up staging homes for 15 years?

I started painting in high school, but gave it up when I entered college as an art major and kept hearing the dreaded phrase "How are you going to make any money at art?" If only I had known the answer then! I went on to get a BS in Nutrition, but didn't make any money at that, either.

After college I worked as a floral designer, a graphic designer, a faux finish painter and then got into home staging and interior design. Looking back now, the pattern seems obvious! When I became a homeowner, I learned lots of DIY and spent my free time gardening, painting and refinishing furniture. Through it all, I've found that I'm happiest when there's a paintbrush in my hand, and it doesn't matter whether I'm creating art or staining a fence. My desire has always been to make things beautiful.

I create art that I love and want to hang in my own home. I am inspired by the perfectly imperfect forms of nature, the seasons, and all of the beauty and color that surrounds us. My paintings are full of the vibrant color that I love, and the loose, painterly brushstrokes that allow me to feel free when creating. My joy comes from living and painting with the seasons and capturing those moments in paint.

When I'm not painting, I enjoy floral crafting, kayaking, puttering around in the house or in the garden, reading, taking naps in my backyard swing and spending time with my husband and kitty.

Thank you for visiting my gallery. I hope you enjoy my work and feel inspired to enjoy the natural beauty around you.
