I have been painting since childhood using oil, acrylics and watercolors. I began to do The Norwegian Folk art of Rosemaling in the early 1970's and received the Vesterheim Gold Metal in 1990.  I taught Rosemaling at the Norwegian American Museum (Vesterheim) and have pieces of my work in their permanent collection.  Two of my pieces were also exhibited in Norway on Vesterheim tours.  In 2000 I returned to fine art and began to paint in water color and Acrylics.  I love painting flowers  but also do many landscapes. I am known for my bright colors and happy subjects. I am continually experimenting with materials and ideas. Lately I have been using extra texture to give my paintings a more three dimensional feel. I hope that my viewers will share the fun and excitement I get from painting.  I have received many prizes for my paintings including first prize at the Fall members show in Fort Myers Beach, Florida in 2018.   I have sold well over 1,000 paintings with no plans to retire..
