Tracy Feldman, Artist

Hi, I'm Tracy Feldman

I'm a painter, sketch artist, builder, and natural storyteller. I love to travel. The world, its people, flora, and fauna are a constant source of fascination, concern, and amusement. I'm delighted you are checking out my profile and look forward to sharing some of my work with you – if that is what YOU want to do.

Who am I?

I started painting in the 1980s.  I've studied painting with artists and in art schools and art departments in England, Ireland, Oregon, online, and Lancaster, PA (where we live). I've participated in numerous group shows, had work accepted in juried shows, and one, and two-woman shows. My work is in private and corporate collections locally and in Oregon, California, Florida, Maryland, Michigan, and Europe. Over the years, I've often been active in different art associations, including the Lancaster County and the Chester County Art Associations.

I started out as a watercolorist.  I mostly worked in oils and acrylics for years, but recently have moved back into sketching and watercolor.

At my core, no matter what my medium, I consider myself a storyteller in paint. The main threads that run through my work are a desire to explore connection (be it physical, personal, emotional, or spiritual), a love of color, and exploring the spatial relationships between elements in a piece.

My favorite pieces have unusual points of view, compositions, or pairings of pictorial elements. The titles I choose for my paintings help viewers appreciate my pieces' mental and physical layers.
I've recently rejoined Daily Paintworks, and I am so excited to connect here with others who love art — as creators or collectors.   DPW was on the ground floor of the daily painter movement and has created a terrific community of artists and collectors.  I love that the Marins have retained their passion for innovation and finding ways to be relevant and helpful to collectors and artists.  That is why I believe DPW is such a fantastic fit for me.

COLLECTOR QUOTES

From Individual collectors:

  • “Art speaks to us in ways intended and unintended by the artist. We have two Tracy Feldman originals: Virginia Sunset, a realistic watercolor of a redbrick Federal-style residence in Virginia—a painting evocative of a familiar, timeless place. The second is a more impressionistic oil landscape of Aasleagh Falls in County Mayo, Ireland, a painting that revives memories of our visit to the Falls. Talking with Tracy, learning her intent, her vision, and sharing our reaction with her enriches the experience and expands our appreciation of the pieces.” A&C Crocamo, Lancaster, PA
  •  “We lost our sweet cat years ago, and I’m so glad that we asked Tracy to paint our Tina. This painting hangs in a prominent place in our home and makes us smile regularly.” NK Cornett, Michigan
  • “Tracy's perception of color and imagery in her landscapes is quite extraordinary. We are proud to have and display her work in our home.'' Ted and Vi Hurley, Galway, Ireland

From a Corporate Collector: That commissioned me first to create a piece to commemorate the 10th anniversary of a housing program; then commissioned me to create a piece for an annual fundraising dinner.

  • “Tracy has a unique way of capturing the essence of a program and transferring it to a visual story.”  P. Stacks, Tabor Community Services (now Foresquare.)
