I did this painting for a Veterans day display. I know thousands of photos have been taken of this memorial, but the two days I spent painting it made me feel like I was touching a piece of history. As I painted each figure I wanted to know more about the story and how it effected the lives of those involved. One thing I love about painting is not only do you gain awareness of color and composition but also the subject matter. Always learning something new with each stroke
