I have become very interested in the paintings of Stephen Quiller, especially the use of negative painting and the Quiller color wheel. I wish to explore the brighter truer color palette with the more neutral grays, and bring out the subject matter of my own paintings by painting the negative space around it. In this painting I have worked on bringing out lower branches using this approach.
