With this artwork, part of my ongoing exploration in the "Food on Newspaper" series, I was particularly interested in the study of light and play of contrasts. The vibrant, living form of the green grapes felt like a perfect counterpoint to the static, informational nature of the newsprint.
My intention with the controlled and confident brushwork was to elevate the everyday, to draw attention to the simple beauty of the fruit against this unexpected backdrop. It's about finding moments of visual interest in the ordinary and highlighting those juxtapositions.
