On Hold
I took this photo in our front yard (some call it a door yard) as the morning sun was cresting the mountain, lighting the ground and the tops of the trees. I love to watch the changes in the woods and foliage as the sun continues to rise. The texture is created with layers of pastel textured ground and acrylic paint slung in the direction of foliage. An underpainting of ink is used to create the guide of darks and light. Then the pastel is applied to finish the painting. By gently gliding the pastel across the texture is creates interesting patterns.
