"Beach Houses on Stilts" was painted on gessoed watercolor paper with acrylic paint. In New England on Cape Cod and especially the lower Cape -Truro, Wellfleet, and Provincetown there are still some of these stilt cottages that are rented in the summer season. Originally I believe they were fishing shacks. I love the way they look on these beaches , so rustic and so inviting. I've seen them in Galveston ,Tx. while visiting family in Texas. If I remember correctly the stilt houses there are more elaborate, more lake an actual home.
