I wasn't sure
I'd finish this guy. Besides the drawing
challenges of the foreshortened forelegs, I started on a green tinted canvas as
an experiment (I thought maybe the green would be nice with the oranges). BIG
MISTAKE! The whole thing looked putrid
until I got rid of all the green! When I
put that pale blue background on (did it before the dog, even), it was like
relieving an itch! I played with colors
on my palette and got the oranges, blues and mauves. Once I had the basic colors blocked in, the
rest came together. Phew!
