Here is an early morning view of the woods on the hill. I use commercial panels if I can get them but if not, I will cut my own hardboard panels which I seal using two coats of GAC-100 both sides followed by gesso. For larger boards, I sometimes glue oil-primed linen to the sealed panels or attach the linen onto stretcher bars. I use primarily walnut oil alla prima.
