On vacation in Ocean City, NJ, I fashioned a tiny paintbox out of a white box in which I'd originally received a shipment of jellies and jams. While I painted the ocean while sitting in the sand, I couldn't help but notice that seagulls were taking a close interest in my setup. Turns out (as I realized later) that my little paintbox reminded them of the pizza boxes that all the boardwalk strollers were walking around with. Poor guys just wanted some pizza. And I thought they were interested in my art...
