This is a painting of a famous Jemez Pueblo artist, done from a photo taken about 34 years ago. This brilliant woman was 16 when the photo was taken, and was my daughter's good friend. The friend now lives and works at Jemez Pueblo in New Mexico. She is the pride of New Mexico! But then she was just a happy go lucky teenager, having fun dancing around in an Apache beaded deerskin dress. I love her.
