One of my greatest challenges as an artist is to learn what to let go of and what to keep. I tend to detail paintings to death. I see so many beautiful paintings that are done with loose, spontaneous brushwork that capture the beauty and essence of the subject without much detail and I am drawn to them. But I cannot seem to achieve this myself. When Carol posted the "simplify" challenge I felt that it was just for me. I feel that my painting was not very successful as there is not much difference from the first to the last although I did get faster. Thank you Carol for this challenge. I will keep trying and try to remember to squint, squint, squint! One of my greatest challenges as an artist is to learn what to let go of and what to keep. I tend to detail paintings to death.
