Today's painting was a little more fresh than yesterday's and took a little less time. Once again I let the painting lead me where it wanted to go, and because the underpainting background had those radiant strokes in it (why did I do that? I guess she looked glorious right from the beginning!) and as I followed along with the subtle value changes in the underpainting, the sky ended up looking like some kind of glorious sunset complete with angels singing. For a while I felt it went a little 'over the top', but then I added a glaze all over the background with some yellow-green and that tamed it down enough for the sheep to come back into focus.I've named her "Gloria" for her glorious aura.
