Last Friday morning I was in Manhattan Kansas and braved the heat to paint the Sedalia Community Church. It is located about 5 miles from where I was located on a dirt road. This church has an interesting history in that at one time it was in disrepair and no one was using it. Some high school kids stole the bell one evening, took it to school to make some noise and they were caught. When they were in front of the judge for their punishment, the judge decided the boys were to return the bell to the church and instead of jail time, their judgement was to renovate the entire church. It is a beautiful prairie church now with a wonderful bell tower, and is in full bloom.
