"Terracotta Olive Jars" 6 x 6 original acrylic painting of terracotta olive jars is painted on Ampersand Gessobord. I used both glazing techniques and palette knife techniques. The paletts knife give the pots a texture, as if they are real. My art is painted in a very loose, rather impressionistic style so the viewer can create his/her own interpretation of shapes and marks throughout the painting. I like to think of this as a "visual experience" that engages the viewer, rather than one that spells out explicitly what is in front of her or him. To accomplish this, I use a variety of tools: brushes, palette knives, and cold wax, cardboard edges, sponges. Thank you for viewing.
