Frida Can Do It The 2025 International Women's Day theme is Accelerate Action for gender equality. Frida Kahlo was not only a famous Mexican artist, she was a feminist icon. Her fearless portrayal of her own identity, in life and in her own art drew attention worldwide. She embraced her cultural identity in how she dressed, and how she portrayed herself. She embraced her gender non-conformity, bringing attention to LGBTQ community. She embraced her physical pain, bringing attention to those with disabilities. She embraced her mental pain, giving voice to women with fertility issues. For this year’s International Women’s Day I have created a collection of four “Women In History” who inspired ways to Accelerate Action in gender equality. I have portrayed them each as a version of the legendary Rosie the Riveter, which is mirrored by the images in the 2025 IWD campaign. They are each striking a Rosie the Riveter pose and I have used the same colours as you see in the iconic poster. Finally, they each have their own version of Rosie’s red with white polka dot head scarf. Frida Can Do It Features: * 100% Original Mixed Media Collage * 8 inches tall, 8 inches wide, 1.5 inches deep * Shelf Sitter * Acrylic paint, hand painted acid free collage paper, paint markers, permanent markers * Original can design * All edges are painted * Finished with Gloss Varnish for protection and longevity * Signed by artist on back * Original art is always shipped by tracked shipping and packaged carefully to protect your purchase Please note that colours may look slightly different depending on the device and screen you are using to view the images.
