I don't know why, but I'm so drawn to painting vintage toys or even new toys made to resemble vintage toys. I couldn't resist when I saw a vintage toy phone at a local antique shop. The combination of it being my favorite color, red, the shiny bells and the nostalgia associated with it caused me to snap it up! It was fun to paint, except for the circles, numbers and letters on the dial - that made me a bit nervous but the dial turned out okay. One day, while working on it, I was wondering what to name it when the old song "Ring my Bell" started playing in my neighbors studio and I thought "That's it! I'll name it Ring my Bell!" I think the name suits it : ) I don't know why, but I'm so drawn to painting vintage toys or even new toys made to resemble vintage toys.
