Introducing the odd ball backyard singing group of cockadoodles I call, The Comb Overs. They are clucking awesome...did I say that out loud?
They were a barbershop quartet until that 5th guy popped in. He has good base so they decided to keep him. Now they are the barbershop quintet. An odd group needs an odd number don't you think?
Speaking of odd, while I was drawing my bird-brained doodles and was almost done with the last one, a song came on by Johnny Cash called, Chicken In Black. He sings about a time he went to the doc and the doc said that his brain is no good so he sent him to a head doc who would give him a brand new brain. He ended up with a brain from a bank robber and now has random thoughts of robbing people and can't sing anymore. He found out his brain was given to a chicken by the same head doc who then signed the chicken up for a 10 year music contract. The chicken sings all of Johnny's songs so don't miss the show by Chicken In Black.
Maybe these redheaded cluckers should tighten up their waddle bowties, run a comb through their combs and see if they can get an interview to be backup singers for the Chicken In Black. Or maybe he'll let them tour with him and they can do the warm up opening number.
Hearing that song while in the throes of creating these cluckers was quite the coinkydink. A super fitting song for my bad hair day series and all of my hair-brained ideas.
