As I began to paint this Sunflower, I knew I wanted it to be more Impressionistic. As an Artist, I began with specific colors in mind, but as I painted, it began to take on different colors and elements, which I really loved. I began to see a theme happening as I observed various details, particularly the center. It seemed as if the Sunflower was lifting its face to the sky. Immediately, the title "I Lift My Eyes to the Mountains", based on Psalm 121:1-2: "I lift my eyes to the mountains, from where my help comes from. My help comes from the Lord, Maker of heaven and earth." I love creating art that speaks to my heart, and hopefully does the same for others. Would love to hear how it speaks to you.
