My sister @karlastuebing had been working on a blanket using scrap yarn; it looked very topographical to me. I asked if she could scrunch up a bit a take a photo so I could paint it. When starting it, I kind of felt like I was doing a knit painting of a Charles Burchfield painting. Having Burchfield as a muse was fun. I felt like it kept it a little more loose and playful.
